I just had a semen analysis done which showed no sperm. Can I still have a baby? My own baby? Or do we have to adopt?

You should never base any decision on only one semen analysis. In my practice, I have taken care of many men who came in with azoospermia or no sperm in their ejaculations, only to find many sperm on a repeat test. Any health problems that happened from 2-4 months prior to the analysis can affect your present sperm count. So, if you had a flu with high fevers 3 months ago that could be enough to make you azoospermic now. You need to be evaluated by a male infertility specialist and should have some hormonal and genetic testing and a repeat semen analysis. Even if it still shows no sperm, I would recommend that you undergo a microsurgical testicular sperm retrieval attempt which would have at least a 50% chance of finding sperm in most cases.
